Enhance patient safety with clear, direct diagnostic insights.

Guidelines-endorsed Technology

Embrace the guidelines recommendations to give surgical precision with transit time flow measurement (TTFM) and epiaortic ultrasound imaging, backed by global health authorities (EACTS/ESC, NICE, ASE/EACVI, ACCG/AHA).

Medistim's combined TTFM and High-Frequency ultrasound imaging technology deliver impactful intraoperative insights.

Highly accurate blood flow volume measurements and detailed morphological assessments, ensuring enhanced patient outcomes.

Epicardial imaging

Epicardial imaging

Epicardial ultrasound imaging gives a simple, fast and safe imaging of coronary stenoses and graft anastomoses, providing immediate feedback on the quality of the CABG surgery.

Transit Time Flow Measurement

Transit Time Flow Measurement

Performing flow measurements with the MiraQ™ Cardiac is the quickest and most accurate way to verify graft patency while the patient is still in the operating room.

Epiaortic imaging

Epicardial imaging

Epiaortic imaging provides a sensitive, direct diagnosis of aortic disease. This may lead to modifications of the surgical strategy and thus contribute towards reduced rates of major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events (MACCE) following surgery.

Guidelines-endorsed technology

Guidelines-endorsed technology

TTFM and Epiaortic ultrasound imaging are included in various guidelines and endorsed by EACTS/ESC, NICE, ASE/EACVI and ACCG/AHA.

Medistims TTFM probes utilize transit time technology to accurately measure blood flow volume intraoperatively. The Medistim L15 High-frequency Ultrasound Imaging Probe provides high-resolution images that allow the surgeon to assess morphology.

Be in control with Medistim technology

MiraQ Cardiac gives surgeons control, enabling planning, navigation, and verification during cardiac surgery. Built on 40 years of innovation, MiraQ Cardiac is our testament to continuously improving patient care, offering surgeons the precision needed to perform their best.

Instant Feedback Gives Insight for Precision & Real-Time Correction.

Get Confidence in Every Surgical Outcome
Had we not used TTFM, we would have left the operating room with an imperfect graft.

Ultrasound Imaging can identify graft complications like this intimal flap.
Low flow and slightly elevated PI is cause for concern.
Improved flow with PI < 3 is predictive of a patent graft.

The MiraQ Cardiac system guides surgical precision, offering real-time insights into graft performance.

MiraQ is the only system that combines ultrasound imaging to visualize the graft and quantifiable Transit Time Flow Measurement (TTFM) data to measure its effectiveness.

By measuring flow and scanning an anastomosis, MiraQ Cardiac identifies issues such as an occluded anastomosis, allowing for immediate correction.

This technology reduces guesswork, streamlines decision-making, and enhances confidence in achieving successful outcomes before concluding the surgery.

Revise On The Spot - Ensuring Success Before Closure

Increase insight & simplify decisions.
The REQUEST study concludes that use of MiraQ technology changed the surgical plan in 25% of all cases.
Epiaortic scanning procedure
Epiaortic scanning can uncover previously undetected and unpalpable soft plaque
Scanning target for medical imaging during open surgery
Epicardial scanning can ensure that the intended target site is suited for the purpose
Medical probe in use during surgery
TTFM measurement provides immediate quantifiable data on graft function

Medistim technology empowers surgeons to make real-time decisions and revisions.

When the MiraQ Cardiac system detects an occluded or underperforming graft, it enables immediate on-the-spot revisions.

This proactive approach reduces the risk of post-operative complications and the need for additional surgeries, ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients. The ability to instantly verify the success of these revisions through ultrasound imaging and TTFM data exemplifies our commitment to precision and reliability in surgical procedures.

Only MiraQ combines imaging and TTFM in a single system

Increase insight & simplify decisions - leave no detail missed.

TTFM: Recommended in guidelines and by experts

TTFM measures the difference in transit time of an ultrasound beam through blood flow.  This ensures accurate quantification of real-time volume flow, complementing the detailed images provided by ultrasound imaging.

Medistim HFUS: Clarity in Every Image

Ultrasound imaging, a core component of our technology, generates detailed images by transmitting ultrasound pulses and receiving echoes. This technique, enhanced by color flow and Pulsed Wave (PW) Doppler modes, allows for the precise detection and visualization of blood flow and flow velocity, offering surgeons unparalleled clarity and insight during procedures.

Yes, we're proud of driving the implementation of Transit Time Flow Measurement (TTFM) in routine use. It provides objective and reliable data that is robust and user-independent.

With established numeric indices such as the Pulsatility Index (PI) and Mean Flow Volume, TTFM offers an accurate insight into the dynamics of graft function and anastomosis quality.

Our High-Frequency Ultrasound (HFUS) technology is specifically designed to provide high-resolution, near-field images during surgery.

The probe head has an elegant user interface and is tailored for small incisions.  It is both reusable and sterilizable.

The probe is approved for direct contact with the heart (risk class III).

It’s an amazing device and we’re really excited to be able to offer this level of surgical excellence to veterans.
