Regional Sales Director

SUMMARY

The Regional Sales Director (RSD) is responsible for the optimization of sales in an assigned region. RSD is responsible for the implementation of the Medistim sales strategies and processes in their region and achievement of sales targets.

OVERVIEW

  • Management of sales team including employed sales representatives and independent sales agents.
  • Manages and directs a sales force to achieve sales and profit goals within an assigned region.
  • Establishment of sales plans, forecasts, and processes that inspire motivation in the sales force.
  • Formulate reporting and coaching protocols with sales representatives.
  • Work together with sales representatives to develop business plans to reach short- and long-term sales objectives.
  • Develop strategies and capture high volume and influential accounts within a region.
  • Negotiate contracts with large hospital buying groups and individual hospitals.
  • Reports to Medistim USA General Manager.

MINIMUM POSITION COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 10 years of experience, with proven success in medical device sales.
  • 3+ plus years of sales management experience or 5+ years of equivalent management or leadership experience.
  • General market knowledge in the medical device field, cardiovascular preferred.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Ability to develop, write and execute business plans.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills, including oral and written communications.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

1. PROFIT & LOSS RESPONSIBILITY

  • Consistently achieve annual sales quotas within your region.
  • Maintain profit margins for the company by adhering to established pricing parameters.

2. PERSONNEL

  • Interview and hire an optimal US sales team for your region in combination with the General Manager Medistim USA.
  • Make certain all positions within your region are filled with qualified candidates.
  • Assure adherence to employee job descriptions for sales representatives within your region.
  • Participate and assist in the training for all personnel.
  • Maintain high levels of employee morale.
  • Develop annual Goals and Objectives for Sales Representatives within your region, as agreed with General Manager Medistim USA.
  • Conduct performance reviews annually and/or as needed throughout the year.

3. SALES AND MARKETING

  • Manage and support exhibitions, meetings and customer events.
  • Assist in creation and development of marketing support materials.
  • Identify the key drivers for sales growth and implement annual activity plans to drive sales initiatives within your region.
  • Establish and nurture positive relationships with customers and key opinion leaders.
  • Implement training protocols for sales force and customers.
  • Provide market feedback to General Manager Medistim USA for product research and development.
  • Facilitate product evaluation and testing.

4. CORPORATE CITIZENSHIP

  • Lead by example, representing the company and its products accurately, and with a positive reflection on the company.
  • Contribute to a corporate environment of cooperation, and the sustenance of a positive attitude.
  • Foster a culture of respect, treating all people – including Medistim personnel, distributor personnel, customers and all other associated personnel – with dignity and fairness.
  • Ensure that team members adhere to all corporate policies.

5. TRAVEL

  • As needed. Up to 90% including international.

6. REPORTING

  • Monthly reporting on performance and field activities.
  • Monthly sales forecasts.
  • Other reporting as requested by General Manager and CEO, Medistim ASA.

7. OTHER DUTIES

  • As determined by General Manager Medistim USA.
